Karen Nelson is a self taught artist from Stow in the Scottish Borders.
Much of her work takes its inspiration from the Borders countryside with the changing light and seasons reflected in her acrylic paintings and soft pastel drawings of familiar landscapes and trees. Seascapes are influenced by the Borders and East Lothian coastline, from wide open sandy beaches and sunlit seas to waves flowing over pebbles.
Karen also produces images of animals in the form of the local wildlife and pets, in soft pastels, pen & ink and, particularly in her exquisite acrylic miniatures.
As a member of a cooperative of artists and designers, The Crafters, which has an exclusive little shop in the Borders town of Melrose, Karen sells paintings, drawings and miniatures alongside a broad range of cards and prints created from her original pieces.
Commissions are always welcome.
Hi! Wow! I was entering my own website and the drops bar offered this site as an option. Since we have the same name I just had to check it out! Your work is amazing! I am sure there are a few Karen Nelsons in the world but haven’t come across any yet lol especially with such talent. I hope you are well and are encouraged to continue your fine work!
